Meet the Intendent Team
Kasey Gandham
Chief Strategy Officer
Kasey Gandham is an education technology founder, most recently having cofounded the AI startup Packback and selling it to PSG Equity after serving millions of students and tens of thousands of K–12 and higher education instructors. His work has focused on helping public school districts expand equitable access to accelerated learning, improve course completion, and build pathways for students to earn college credit while still in high school.
Kasey has worked with K–12 and community college systems in Miami-Dade, Hillsborough, Houston, Austin, Orange County, Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Portland, St. Louis, and Mesa Unified, among others. He has advised education leaders on aligning instructional initiatives with college readiness, dual enrollment, and state accountability priorities.
At Intendent, Kasey advises on strategy, product development, and growth, bringing experience connecting district-level priorities with measurable student outcomes.
Dr. Nathan Parker
Founder & Chairman
Dr. Parker is the former superintendent (Montclair Public Schools, Summit Public Schools, City of Orange Public Schools, Upper Saddle River Public Schools) with a track record of turning around district performance. He was coached personally by Barry Jentz (the creator of the Entry Plan approach) in his first superintendency, and he credits the Entryplan model with his success as a district leader.
In 2021, Dr. Parker began experimenting with AI and “Retrieval Augmented Generation” to parse datasets of district information and extract insights and found the results (and time-savings) transformative.
Now, Dr. Parker wants to bring the magic of AI and the benefits of the Entry Plan approach to districts across the country through Intendent.
Dr. Ann Marie Chavez
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Chavez, is an education executive with 30+ years building organizations, frameworks, and systems at the intersection of K-12 education, technology, and innovation. What drives her is a belief that every student deserves access to personalized, high-quality teaching and learning. And that making it happen at scale requires instructional vision, operational courage, and teams built to execute.
At Intendent she is excited to bring this tool to market and continue to serve K-12 leaders across the country. Intendent is a powerful support for the people leading our schools and districts. Ann Marie understands the power of AI and how it can serve educators in human-centered ways to improve the ability to impact students and communities.
Her career has spanned the classroom to the C-suite. As Deputy Chief of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at Chicago Public Schools, she led an instructional turnaround across 42 schools on the near southside, resulting in increased student growth on state assessment and community engagement in underserved populations. She co-founded Modern Teacher, designing the research-validated Convergence Framework and platform, adopted by 100+ school systems and 1M+ students, endorsed by Johns Hopkins University and AASA.
Ann Marie is a published author, keynote speaker, and earned a Doctorate in Education from University of Southern California. She is known for building things that endure: frameworks, companies, and programs that scale, with ongoing impact.
Craig Booth
Chief Technology Officer
Craig leads technology at Intendent. He started his career as an astrophysicist, earning a PhD in Computational Cosmology from Durham University. He held research positions at institutions across the globe, where he spent his days making sense of enormous, messy datasets.
A love of building things drew Craig out of academia and into software, where he found his home in education technology. He has stayed in edtech because few fields let technology shape so many young lives, and he wants the next generation to have schools led with the best information possible.
Superintendents and district leaders hold some of the most impactful roles in any community, and their decisions reach students, families, teachers, and staff alike. What hooked me was Intendent's research-based approach, which is built around entry plans. I saw a real chance to use technology to capture effective leadership practices and help scale them to districts everywhere.
